This document specifies the general rules for purity analysis of organic compounds by quantitative ¹H nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy with the internal standard method. This document is applicable to purity analysis, by quantitative ¹H nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy with the internal standard method, of organic compounds of well-defined molecular structure that contain hydrogen atoms (¹H) producing NMR signals suitable for accurate quantification. This document is not applicable to purity analysis of compounds whose only hydrogen atoms (¹H) are in groups such as hydroxyl, amino and sulfhydryl groups.
