Scope

This document describes methods for determining the ammonia nitrogen content of water treatment chemicals. This document is applicable to the determination of ammonia nitrogen in water treatment chemicals. With a sample mass of 5 g, the Nessler reagent spectrophotometric method (2 cm cell) has a detection limit of 2.5 mg/kg and is applicable to ammonia nitrogen contents of 10 mg/kg to 200 mg/kg; the salicylic acid spectrophotometric method (1 cm cell) has a detection limit of 1 mg/kg and is applicable to 4 mg/kg to 16 mg/kg; the distillation-neutralization titration method has a detection limit of 5 mg/kg and is applicable to contents not less than 20 mg/kg; the rapid salicylic acid spectrophotometric method (4 cm cell) has a detection limit of 1.5 mg/kg and is applicable to 10 mg/kg to 250 mg/kg.
