Scope

This document describes the principle, reagents or materials, apparatus, samples, test procedure, processing of test data, precision, and quality assurance and control for the determination of thorium (Th) in thorium ores by the methyltrialkylammonium chloride (N263) separation–ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) titration method, the N263 separation–arsenazo Ⅲ spectrophotometric method and the inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry method. This document is applicable to the determination of the thorium content of thorium ores. The determination range of the N263 separation–EDTA titration method is 0.1 % to 10.0 %; that of the N263 separation–arsenazo Ⅲ spectrophotometric method is 0.02 % to 0.2 %; and that of the inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry method is 0.005 % to 0.3 %.
