Scope
This document specifies the requirements for fixed water-based local application fire-fighting systems for use in category A machinery spaces of ships (hereinafter referred to as "fire-fighting systems") and describes the test methods. This document is applicable to the design, manufacture and inspection of fixed water-based local application fire-fighting systems used in category A machinery spaces with a volume exceeding 500 m^3 on passenger ships of 500 gross tonnage and above and cargo ships of 2 000 gross tonnage and above.
