Scope

This document defines the terms of pressure cookers, gives the product classification, specifies the specifications and requirements of pressure cookers, and describes the corresponding test methods. This document is applicable to pressure cookers with a rated working pressure greater than 4 kPa and less than 150 kPa. This document is not applicable to: — rice cookers; — pressure cookers used for pressure frying with oil; — electric pressure cookers used in special environments, e.g. in locations with corrosive or explosive atmospheres (dust, vapour or gas).
